Toronto's Premiere 30K/15K/5K Road Race and Family Fun Run through the eastern beaches and waterfront
As we enter into our 10TH year we reflect on the last decade of trials, tribulations, and successes and contemplate HOW we can make the 10th year “running” the BEST ONE yet.
When you look at our event’s inspiration- Shakespeare- and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream- you think MAGIC. At least we do…and we think about a play- and we think about the plot line and the story. In summary, a good story from a theatrical or literary perspective has fundamental ingredients to make it a good story.
Those ingredients include the initial circumstances, conflict, complications, climax, suspense, denouement and a conclusion.
WE feel that OUR Midsummer story has had and experienced all of these ingredients over the years. Some years, more successfully than others, but we can leave that to the critics.
We are entering into our X year (which is TEN in Roman numerals).
TEN YEARS--we can hardly believe it and because we want to make our X year most Xcellent…we have decided to take a year intermission in order to make it so.
Borrowing from the theme of the Midsummer play where there lies confusion between states. Dream vs. Reality and between Slumber and Waking. We place the event into “sleep mode” for 2015 so that your X year can be BETTER than any waking dream.
We hope that you do not mind the ”rest” and that you will return with your wings, ready for flight when we are ready to take off again in 2016.
We have a FEW things up our MIDSUMMER sleeves (of course!).
The LUNATIC and the POET are hard at work drumming up some SPECIAL things for your TENTH year. It is an event for you… for the people…and for a good cause.
We have led you down a path of mystery...but we promise we will not leave you there for long.
On August 22, 2015 we will announce the details of our X year
(The 10th year running) of A Midsummer Night’s Run and will be OPEN for registration for the X year 2016.
2015 Scholarship Applications Now Available!
As you know, A Midsummer Night’s Run raises money to support the Department of Rheumatology at SickKids. To broaden that goal, to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the wonderful doctors and staff of the Department, and to help kids with Arthritis achieve their goals, A Midsummer Night’s Run is promoting it's second annual Post-Secondary Scholarship in honour of a truly amazing and special person – Dr. Bonnie Cameron. She is a dedicated, hardworking, and caring professional who gives dignity, maturity, and hope to her patients – and lets their parents come along for the ride! She is a truly special person in our hearts. Along with an amazing staff who work along side her, kids get the first class treatment that they deserve. Take this opportunity to review the scholarship and please recommend it to a post-secondary school student with Arthritis. Applications must be postmarked by July 10, 2015.
